Interest rate vs comparison rate
The interest rate is used to estimate repayments. A comparison rate also includes many standard fees and charges, but it may not include every cost or product feature.
Explore advertised home-loan rates from more than 100 lenders in the Rate Challenge comparison dataset. Filter by loan purpose, occupancy, repayment type, loan amount, rate type and LVR, then compare pricing, estimated repayments, features and fees.
Dataset coverage is broader than Rate Challenge’s 35+ lender broker panel. Not every lender or product shown can be arranged through Rate Challenge.
Check your existing rate, test repayments and learn more about refinancing before speaking with a mortgage broker.
The page matches products to your selected loan purpose, occupancy, repayment type, rate type, fixed term, loan amount and LVR. If a product has several LVR pricing tiers, it shows the nearest tier that still covers the selected LVR and displays that product once.
The interest rate is used to estimate repayments. A comparison rate also includes many standard fees and charges, but it may not include every cost or product feature.
LVR is the loan amount divided by the property value. Lower LVRs can qualify for sharper pricing, while higher LVRs may have different rates, policy limits or lenders mortgage insurance requirements.
Variable rates can move over time. Fixed rates generally apply for a selected period before the loan reverts to another rate, and break costs may apply if the fixed contract ends early.
Principal-and-interest repayments reduce the balance. Interest-only repayments generally cover interest for a limited period and can produce different pricing, assessment and repayment outcomes.
Lenders can price owner-occupied and investment loans differently. Loan purpose, occupancy and repayment type must match how the property and funds will actually be used.
Eligibility, fees, offset, redraw, repayment flexibility, cashback conditions, loan structure and lender policy can all change the practical result.
Use this dataset to research advertised pricing and build a shortlist. It is a broad comparison source, not a whole-of-market promise, personalised quote or assessment of whether a lender will approve your application.
The current published feed covers advertised Australian home-loan pricing from more than 100 lenders. This count describes the dataset, not the smaller Rate Challenge broker panel.
The rates feed is refreshed daily. The exact date of the latest successful published update appears at the top of this page.
The feed is checked for expected lender and product coverage, a valid update date, usable rate values and consistency between the public website outputs.
Negotiated pricing, every lender or product, later intraday changes, personalised fees, cashback conditions and lender credit-policy outcomes may not be captured.
